I recently visited Hull on an open day, arriving with the stereotypical view of the area being dirty, run down and having a drug user or prostitute at every other corner. Needless to say it has a bad reputation as a city.
BUT in the League tables its reputation overall is higher than Leicester University's (Leicester has previously been my first choice)at number 23. So why are people saying that certain regions will not credit Hull uni degrees?
It really worries me because I was incredibly impressed by the Psychology Open Day I went to and Hull was fast approaching my first choice.. but now, Im in doubt. Also, the nightlife and crime rate are supposedly the opposite of one another - crime rate high, nightlife low - how true is this? I have read other people's opinions on this site and naturally they contradict one another, so I am left with no conclusion.
Please help if you can. Any comment on the Psychology department at Hull compared with other unis?
