Although this will be my first year at Herts and I can't tell you much about the uni itself I can tell you about the nightlife as I've lived in St Albans for 10 years. It's brilliant. St Albans is packed full of bars and pubs, with very cheap drink. There is one nightclub Batchwood that is often a god night out. Watford near by is a really good night out too, they have loads of bars etc. Student night is on a Monday where most drinks are a pound, and there are a couple of nightclubs which are always packed. Theres Hemel down the road which is ok. And if all else fails it's only a 40min train journey into Central London, and you can get a taxi home for £40.
